Matcha is perfect to kick start your busy day, or as a delicious after lunch pick-me-up. We have come up with three exciting ways to prepare our daily Shinto Matcha for the modern tea drinker. Discover a whole new way of enjoying the deep and rich flavors of Matcha and master the matcha in your daily routine with these simple recipes.

MATCHA SMOOTHIE

A nutritional powerhouse, this super green smoothie will energize you in an instant!

For two servings:

  • 1 Apple
  • 1 Kiwi
  • 30g Spinach
  • thumbnail-sized ginger
  • 280ml Water
  • 2 Chashaku scoops Shinto Matcha

Pit apple, peel kiwi and ginger, wash and stem spinach. Combine all ingredients into a blender until smooth.

MATCHA LATTE

A delicious alternative to coffee for a longer lasting energy boost.

For one serving:

  • 200mL unsweetened almond, soy, or rice milk
  • 2 Chashaku scoops Shinto Matcha
  • 60ml water
  • Matcha accessories: Chasen, Chawan, Matcha Strainer

Take 2 Chashaku scoops of matcha and strain it into a Chawan to remove any lumps. Pour into Chawan 60mL water at 70° C and using a Chasen whisk in an “m” motion for 15 seconds. The matcha is prepared. Now heat the milk of your choice in a pan until steam rises. Just before it reaches a simmer take the milk off the heat and whisk until frothy (Tip: a Chasen can whisk your milk into frothy perfection). Pour milk into prepared matcha and enjoy.

ICED MATCHA

Adding ice to matcha removes the bitterness and makes a refreshing pick-me-up.

  • 2 Chashaku scoops matcha
  • Ice cubes
  • 60ml water
  • Matcha accessories: Chasen, Chawan, Matcha Strainer

Take 2 Chashaku scoops of matcha and strain it into a Chawan to remove any lumps. Pour into Chawan 60mL water at 70° C and using a Chasen whisk in an “m” motion for 15 seconds. Add ice cubes and enjoy chilled.

SHINTO MATCHA

Finely ground green tea for daily use and culinary purposes.
