A roasted ''Rock Oolong'' with honey notes from Wuyi Mountain in China

Named after the biggest monolith from its native mountain range Wu Yi, Great King captivated us with its remarkable presence and strong lingering honey note. Teas from this area are called “Yan Cha” or “Rock Oolong” and they are famous for their meticulous, long processing and inviting yet highly sophisticated aroma.

The beautiful location of Wu Yi mountains has a rich history of tea and a unique terroir. Oolongs from this region are recognised universally for their deep oxidation and extensive roasting techniques where the art of a true tea master is visible. The Oolongs require a meticulous and long process, where tea masters will often stay awake all night to stir the tea leaves every hour, while roasting to bring out the best of tea. After being left to "settle in" for six months, the deepened aromas are traditionally enjoyed to celebrate the turn of the new year.
