This year’s Kali-Ma Reserve comes to us from the mesmerizing Phoobsering Tea Estate gardens, one of the oldest tea plantations located in the northern region of Darjeeling. Enveloped in a veil of mist, its green slopes cover around 250 hectares of tea trees at an altitude of 3000 to 6000 feet. The crisp mountain air slows the growth of the tea trees, and yet exactly these climatic conditions create the infamous and unique Darjeeling muscatel aroma. This prize-winning first flush yields a light-bodied brew with a subtle, half-fermented, lingering floral flavor reminiscent of the most delicate White Tea.
