A high-grown Ceylon black tea for daily enjoyment
“The first condition of understanding a foreign country is to smell it,” Kipling wisely wrote, and we took him at his word. For the essence of Sri Lanka, look no further than this fruity, citrusy and velvety Ceylon, accented with light notes of malt.

Kipling's Cup N°513
It feels like decades since I last had the proverbial proper cuppa tea in the morning. Ever since a fantastic foray into the world of oolongs, greens, pu-erh and various other of mainland China's gems in 2010 in a tea garden in Chengdu, nothing has ever been the same. I admit I do like a proper street chai to get the engine going in the morning, but the sweet, comforting taste of milk, tea granules, cardamom and ginger mixed with sugar are hardly what one would call purist. I digress! Long story short, I hadn't drunk proper black tea in quite some time by the time I tasted Kipling's Cup. A new fave, for sure, well rounded, not too much of a smack in the face or the stomach in the early morning. I'm actually having it with some boiled clove water, which is magic and really complements this brew's smoother spectrum of flavour! Team like, many thanks for curating this leaf!
My favorite in the morning, makes me feel really comfortable.
Aktuell mein Lieblingstee 🤩
Really delighted with this tea, it's become a member of my regular rotation of teas. I tend to like very strong black teas, and would describe this as being on the lighter end of my preference for a 'plain' black tea. I like, too, that it travels decently - my first pot of the day is the one I brew and pour into a thermos to have at work roughly an hour later, and not all teas have held up well to that, but this one does. I drink it without milk or sugar.
