Every April, the *hanami* tradition brings the Japanese together to admire the glorious, short-lived cherry tree blossoms. We've captured that fleeting beauty with this infusion of wild cherry leaves, giving the leaves an oolong-style treatment to distill their fruity-sweet aroma.

The ancient Japanese custom of hanami, or "flower viewing," is a tradition that reaches as far back as the Heian Period (794 -1185). Back then, it was Emperor Saga who began hosting elaborate flower viewing parties under the blooming branches of the imperial court's cherry trees – inspiring generations of poets to praise the delicate flower's ephemeral beauty. Carefully processed in the style of oolong teas, these wild cherry leaves capture that colorful spectacle of sakura, or cherry blossom, in a fruity-sweet cup balanced with delicate notes of almond – allowing us to revel in rose-colored dreams all year round.
