What’s in a name? The Tokoname region has been producing some of Japan’s most prized ceramics for thousands of years. The area’s clays are especially light, thin and mineral-rich, which alkalizes the tea and enhances its natural sweetness. This kyusu pot features sweeping ridges on the lid and body of the pot to add a pleasing tactile touch. An elaborate firing process has brought forth a sweeping coloration, while its diminutive size makes it well-suited for a series of small, intense infusions. The porous ceramic will absorb color and aroma of tea and is suitable for teas of one oxidation.
