Golden Earl

For our Earl Grey, we use premium black tea sourced from the historic tea-growing region of Yunnan. This specialty is highly prized as a "golden bud tea" due to the delicate young tea buds that turn golden during oxidation.

Give the precious tea leaves plenty of space to expand fully. Use a large tea strainer to brew your tea. Enjoy our GOLDEN EARL as iced tea: Brew it stronger than usual and pour it over ice cubes to cool it down.

The processing of the tea

For our GOLDEN EARL, Italian bergamot oil is carefully mixed with the tea leaves in a drum. This process is repeated several times to achieve the desired intensity.

What does Golden Earl taste like?

Golden Earl tastes fresh, citrusy and well balanced. The bergamot brings the characteristic Earl Grey aroma, while the black tea base adds depth, body and a pleasantly rounded cup.

Why is the tea called Golden Earl?

Golden Earl takes its name from the golden tips in the black tea used for the blend. These delicate buds come from especially young shoots, turn golden during processing and are regarded as a sign of very high tea quality.

Is Golden Earl a classic Earl Grey?

Golden Earl is clearly inspired by the classic Earl Grey style, with black tea and bergamot at the heart of the blend. At the same time, its high-quality tea base gives it a particularly elegant character.

What is the difference between Golden Earl and black tea?

The difference lies in the flavouring. Pure black tea is not additionally flavoured, whereas Golden Earl is refined with bergamot, which gives it its distinctive Earl Grey taste.
