Hojicha Powder

Hojicha is a popular roasted tea from Japan. For our HOJICHA POWDER, roasted green tea is a finely ground. Hojicha has a lower caffeine content than matcha, which makes it a pleasant drink for the afternoon hours. Enjoy the naturally sweet taste and pleasantly mild aroma that define this Japanese tea specialty.

The preparation

You prepare hojicha powder like matcha: Sift the tea powder into a bowl and add hot (but not boiling) water. Whisk the Hojicha until it's frothy. For the best results, use M-shaped moves with your wrist rather than a circular move. To make a Hojicha latte, pour the mixture over milk.

1 tbsp. / 2 g per 75 ml water	80° C

Sift tea powder into bowl. Add water and whisk 15-20 sec until creamy.

The processing

The delicate leaves and stems of our premium Tencha green tea are roasted at 200°C with constant movement. This process gives the tea its characteristic brown color and unique aroma. Our HOJICHA POWDER has a medium roast, striking the perfect balance between fresh green tea flavors and a distinctive nutty-caramel roasted taste.
