How the tea tastes

Muse

The second harvest of Darjeeling, known as the Second Flush, occurs from late May to the end of June. Its distinctly full-bodied flavor with fruity, floral, and slightly spicy notes makes this tea a favorite among connoisseurs worldwide.

How to create
the perfect cup of tea

The preparation

The more oxidized the tea, the hotter the water should be for brewing to get the best flavor. For fully oxidized black tea, higher temperatures help bring out its intense and malty aromas.

The processing

During the second harvest, the darker, more mature leaves of the tea plant are meticulously plucked and processed to produce Second Flush Darjeeling. Known for their sweet muscatel character, reminiscent of muscat grapes, this tea offers a spicier, fuller-bodied flavor compared to the First Flush.

The origin of the tea

Darjeeling, a picturesque region in the Indian state of West Bengal, is located in the foothills of the eastern Himalayas at altitudes ranging from 600 to 1,800 meters. The cool climate, high elevation, and nutrient-rich soil provide ideal conditions for tea cultivation, imparting Darjeeling tea with its distinctive flavor. Well-known since the 19th century, it has earned the name "Champagne of teas".
