Our smooth Premium VINTAGE LOTUS, made of hand-picked buds, is a fermented Shou Pu-Erh tea. Unique among teas, Pu-Erh undergoes a special fermentation process alongside oxidation, creating an unmatched complexity of intense woody, earthy, and sweet flavors.

The preparation

In Chinese tea ceremonies, Pu-Erh tea is traditionally prepared in a Gaiwan. Alternatively, you can brew the leaves and then pour the tea into a serving pot after steeping. We recommend multiple infusions for our Shou Pu-Erh tea, as each unveils new layers of this extraordinary tea.

The processing of the tea

After harvesting and drying, Pu-Erh tea goes through a special fermentation process called wet piling. The leaves are piled up, covered, and regularly turned in a controlled warm and humid environment. This carefully managed process gives Shou Pu-Erh tea its unique and complex flavor.

The origin of the tea

In the remote and scenic region of Lincang, at elevations starting from 1800 meters, tea is still cultivated traditionally. This important area in Yunnan Province is famous for its traditional Pu-Erh tea and has provided perfect conditions for ancient tea trees for centuries, thanks to its subtropical climate.

FAQ about Vintage Lotus

Vintage Lotus is a loose-leaf Shou Pu-Erh tea from Yunnan, China. This fermented tea speciality combines the earthy and woody notes typical of Pu-Erh with a smooth, rounded cup and a gentle natural sweetness.
Shou Pu-Erh refers to the ripened, carefully fermented style of Pu-Erh tea. In Vintage Lotus, this traditional process creates a dark infusion, a smooth texture and the tea’s distinctive depth of flavour.
Vintage Lotus is full-bodied, smooth and layered. Its flavour profile brings together woody, earthy and lightly sweet notes that are especially valued by lovers of high-quality Shou Pu-Erh.
Vintage Lotus is made exclusively from hand-plucked buds of the Yunnan large-leaf Mengku cultivar. This careful leaf selection gives the tea an elegant structure, a refined mouthfeel and expressive aromatic depth.
After harvesting, the leaves are withered, heated, rolled and dried. Vintage Lotus then undergoes the typical Shou Pu-Erh fermentation process in a carefully controlled warm and humid environment, which gives the tea its distinctive depth and character.
You can prepare Vintage Lotus traditionally in a gaiwan or in a teapot. As this loose-leaf Pu-Erh is well suited to multiple infusions, you can enjoy how its flavour develops from one steeping to the next.
Shou Pu-Erh such as Vintage Lotus is carefully fermented and usually tastes darker, softer and more earthy in the cup. Sheng Pu-Erh matures naturally and often shows a fresher, livelier character with a different flavour evolution over time.
