P&T and Cookies Cream celebrate World Tea Day with an innovative Tea Pairing

On World Tea Day, 21 May, P&T and renowned Michelin-starred restaurant Cookies Cream joined forces to create an unforgettable fine dining experience with a non-alcoholic tea pairing. P&T's Head of Tea Experience Eduardo Molina and head chef Nicholas Hahn hosted a modern tea pairing menu that inspired tea lovers in every sense.

Berlin — On 21 May 2025, P&T joined forces with Michelin-starred restaurant Cookies Cream in Berlin for an innovative tea pairing menu, celebrating the versatility of tea as a non-alcoholic accompaniment in fine dining.

The collaboration between P&T and Cookies Cream gave rise to a menu that puts the tea pairing trend firmly in the spotlight. By bringing together exceptional tea and culinary artistry, it builds a bridge between tradition and modernity. The event offered a behind-the-scenes look at the making of a truly unique dining experience — and demonstrated the remarkable potential of tea in fine dining.

How a Tea Pairing Menu comes together: A Behind-the-Scenes Look

Three creative minds came together to craft the exclusive World Tea Day menu: Eduardo Molina from P&T, and Nicholas Hahn and bar chef Sam Doyle from Cookies Cream. Their shared ambition was to create a non-alcoholic pairing that gives tea the place it deserves. "Tea brings an entirely new language to the table — herbal, smoky, floral, sometimes even umami," explains head chef Nicholas Hahn. In modern gastronomy, tea is no longer seen merely as an accompaniment, but as an equal player in its own right.

The Art of Tea Pairing: Our Recommendations

P&T's tea expert Eduardo Molina made a careful selection of teas for the seven-course menu. "Tea is a remarkably versatile and complex drink — much like wine," says Molina. His tea pairing recommendations are as follows:

Green tea: Perfect with seafood and vegetable dishes.
Black tea: Ideal alongside hearty meat and richly spiced dishes.
White tea: A beautiful match for delicate starters.
Oolong: The perfect companion to Asian cuisine.
Pu-erh: Pairs wonderfully with earthy dishes and dark chocolate.
Herbal teas: Ideal with desserts and lighter dishes.

Why Tea is the new Must-Have in Fine Dining

Tea pairing has firmly established itself in Michelin-starred kitchens, increasingly celebrated as a sophisticated alternative to alcoholic drinks. Tea continues to surprise with its complexity and elegance, offering an exciting addition to any menu — and one that naturally encourages mindful enjoyment.
