2. Fulfillment of accessibility requirements:
We strive to make our online shop accessible in accordance with the Web Content Accessibility Guidelines (WCAG) Version 2.2 at Level AA, to ensure that our offering is accessible to everyone, and we take these requirements into account in our design and development process. Measures include:
-
Access and security: Our systems for identification, authentication, security, and payment are designed to be perceivable, operable, understandable, and robust for all users. This includes simple, user-friendly sign-in procedures, accessible two-factor authentication, and secure payment processes.
-
Functional performance criteria: We offer various modes of operation that ensure our products and services can also be used by users with physical, sensory, or cognitive impairments. This is ensured as follows:
-
All content is accessible without relying on color, and there are text alternatives for users with visual impairments.
-
Our features do not require hearing and provide enhanced audio capabilities for users with hearing impairments.
-
Our digital content can be used without fine motor control.
-
We avoid visual stimuli that could trigger photosensitive seizures.
-
We ensure that functions supporting cognitive impairments are offered to make use as simple as possible.
-
All accessibility features used safeguard the privacy of our users.
-
3. Non-accessible content and justification:
Please note: Due to continuous technical developments and adjustments to our content, new accessibility issues may occasionally arise. However, we assure you that all known issues have been resolved to the best of our knowledge and belief.
Product reviews and Loyalty programme
The integration of our product reviews and loyalty programme is based on technical solutions provided by Reviews.io and LoyaltyLion. These services are provided via external widgets, to whose source code and design we have no direct access. Within the scope of existing possibilities, we have made adjustments to increase the accessibility of these components.
A completely accessible design of the widgets for reviews and loyalty points is currently only possible within the framework of the architecture specified by our partners. For example, according to LoyaltyLion's own help centre, functions such as comprehensive keyboard navigation are currently not supported. As embedded third-party content may contain barriers that the website operator cannot remedy itself, we are in close contact with the service providers to address existing shortcomings and continuously improve the user experience.
Checkout area (cash register & payment processing)
The checkout on our website is based on the Shopify technical platform. Shopify only allows customisation in this area via so-called checkout extensions, which enable structured design and functional enhancements, but do not allow direct access to the source code or individual CSS.
We have taken all measures within these technical possibilities to improve accessibility in the checkout.
Reason: A completely accessible design in the checkout is currently only possible within the framework of the architecture specified by Shopify. Individual implementation of, for example, screen reader-specific HTML, alternative navigation structure or own contrast logic is not permitted.
4. Preparation of the accessibility statement:
The assessment of the websites’ conformity with the BaFG was carried out in the form of a self-test according to WCAG 2.2.
We continuously improve our websites. Usability and accessibility are very important to us. If you encounter any barriers on our websites that hinder or limit your use, please inform us at the following email address: wecare@paperandtea.com. You are also welcome to contact us by phone:
