Background Knowledge

Creating the world's best tea chocolate required not only the best tea, but also the best chocolate. This search led us to Original Beans, a renowned chocolate manufacturer that takes great care to bring out the unique flavor of the cocoa bean in its couvertures. Original Beans stands for sustainability, fair trade and regenerative agriculture.

The next challenge was to subtly integrate the tea flavor into the chocolate without disturbing the delicate aroma balance. In our studio, we came up with the idea of using the fat of the chocolate itself as a flavor carrier - thus cocoa butter tea was born. In master chocolatier Kevin Kugel, we found a partner who did a fantastic job of implementing this through careful experimentation with the various teas. The result is a delicate, quietly sophisticated line of chocolates. And a friendship with our partners, Original Beans and Master Chocolatier Kevin Kugel.

In our studio, we came up with the idea of using the fat in the chocolate itself as a flavour carrier - and so cocoa butter tea was born.
